About Us
In October 2000, Matthew Pulisic, PT, DPT, OCS opened Richmond Physical Therapy Corporation, and in 2005 he opened Ashland Physical Therapy. In May of 2019 Matt sold his Richmond location to one of his physical therapy staff members and now is solely in the Ashland location. In Ashland we have a team of thirteen staff including six licensed physical therapists. The majority of our physical therapists are Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association and one therapist specializes in the treatment of pediatric patients. We have also been the primary physical therapy providers for Randolph-Macon College for many years.
We take great pride in the work we do, putting the patient first at all times. We offer both early morning and late evening hours for appointments and will guarantee an appointment within the first 48 business hours of calling our office. Emergency appointments are available when necessary. Our physical therapists have over 75 years of combined experience and have developed excellent relationships with numerous local physicians. And as allowed by the state of Virginia, we comfortably see patients who come to us directly without a referral from a physician. We pride ourselves in the fact that we are able to attain very successful outcomes using evidence-based treatment programs.
We are active in teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate level as we provide internship opportunities annually for those looking to attend physical therapy school, as well as provided clinical rotations annually for students in the School of Physical Therapy at VCU. We are also active in the community working with local running groups, cycling clubs, coaching sports, and sponsoring local events. We also offer complimentary screening programs for anyone looking to see if physical therapy could be beneficial for them.
Our staff is available to make your experience as pleasant as possible. We will work closely with you to make sure your insurance benefits are understood and will contact your insurance company as needed. Our primary goal is to return you to your preinjury level of functional performance, if not better, and most of all improve the quality of your life.
